Gita Jayanti is observed on the 11th day of the Shukla Paksha of Margashirsha month
It is believed that the Bhagavad Gita was rendered by Lord Krishna to Arjuna on this day. Gita Jayanthi falls on the Shukla Paksha Ekadashi day of the Margashirsha month
Bhagavad gita
The Bhagavad-gita is a conversation between Arjuna, a supernaturally gifted warrior about to go into battle, and Krishna, his charioteer.
In the course of giving Arjuna all manner of spiritual and material advice, Krishna explains karma, the self, the Supreme Self, the purpose of yoga, the difference between our self and our material body, how our environment affects our consciousness, and how to attain the perfection of life.
The Bhagavad-Gita consists of 18 chapters. Each chapter is called a yoga.
The first six chapters have been classified as the Karma Yoga section as they mainly deal with the science of the individual consciousness attaining communion with the Ultimate Consciousness through actions
The middle six chapters have been designated as the Bhakti Yoga section as they principally are pertaining with the science of the individual consciousness attaning communion with the Ultimate Consciousness by the path of devotion.
The final six chapters are regarded as the Jnana Yoga section as they are primarily concerned with the science of the individual consciousness attaining communion with the Ultimate Consciousness through the intellect.
Whenever dharma declines and the purpose of life is forgotten, I manifest myself on earth. I am born in every age to protect the good, to destroy evil, and to reestablish dharma.
They are forever free who renounce all selfish desires and break away from the egocage of “I,” “me,” and “mine” to be united with the Lord. This is the supreme state. Attain to this, and pass from death to immortality.
There are three gates to this self-destructive hell: lust, anger, and greed. Renounce these three.
You have the right to work, but never to the fruit of work. You should never engage in action for the sake of reward, nor should you long for inaction.
The process of offering is Brahman; that which is offered is Brahman. Brahman offers the sacrifice in the fire of Brahman. Brahman is attained by those who see Brahman in every action.
Free from anger and selfish desire, unified in mind, those who follow the path of yoga and realize the Self are established forever in that supreme state.
I am ever present to those who have realized me in every creature. Seeing all life as my manifestation, they are never separated from me.
No one who does good work will ever come to a bad end, either here or in the world to come.
I am easily attained by the person who always remembers me and is attached to nothing else. Such a person is a true yogi, Arjuna.
I am the father and mother of this universe, and its grandfather too; I am its entire support. I am the sum of all knowledge, the purifier, the syllable Om; I am the sacred scriptures, the Rig, Yajur, and Sama Vedas.

History:
Once Srimushnam Ariachar was residing at Thirukkambuliur, about 7 km from Chinthalavadi towards karur. One day Sri Narasimha appeared in his dream and told him, that in the Cauvery shore at Karuppathur, a laundry man is washing clothes on the back of his sculpture, and asked him to bring and install it. As directed Aachar went to Karuppathur. To his surprise the laundrymen also had a dream, Sri Narasimha devaru was asking him to handover the stone to Ariayachar. Ariachar carried the stone towards thirukkambuliur.
When he reached Chinthalavadi the stone was weighing too much and he could not carry it further anymore.
At Chinthalavadi, Vyasarayaru had already installed Mukhyaprana devaru. Ariachar and others went and consulted Vyasarayaru and he instructed them to install Sri Narasimha at chinthalavadi itself. Aftertwards Vyasarayaru came to Chinthalavadi for darshan of Yoga Narasimha and installed SriGopalakrishna also.
