Birth:

He was born to the holy couple Sri Mathi Bhagirathi and Sri Balachar, by the divine grace  of Sri JayaTirtha. and thats why his parents named him as “Jayatirtha.”

Vedanta Studies

Sri Vishnu Tîrtha pursued his advanced spiritual studies under the Sri I.G. VenkataRamanachar( (Sri Vyasatatvajnaru) in holy Mantralayam and  became an expert in Shastra, Veda

Attained Vairaagya thru purandara dasara devara nama:

Once while Jayatirtha was sitting in his house over a cot, a Dasaru who was passing by chanting the kirtanas of Sri Purandara dasaru sang those lines

“Mancha Baradu, Madadi Baralu, Kanchu Kannadi Baradu,
Sanchitathi Dravya Baradu Munche Maadiro dharmava. “

ಮಂಚ ಬಾರದು | ಮಡದಿ ಬಾರಳು |ಕಂಚು ಕನ್ನಡಿ ಬಾರದು |
ಸಂಚಿತಾರ್ತದ ದ್ರವ್ಯ ಬಾರದು | ಮುಂಚೆ ಮಾಡಿರೊ ಧರ್ಮವ |

– Cot, wife and children, Mirror and other accessory show items, monetary earnings and material pleasures will not come with YOU; first you follow Dharma only that will come.

Those words transformed Jayathirtha’s life.

Jayatirtha immediately renounced Samsara life. He passed all his Samsara duties on to his Son and accepted the 3rd order of Ashrama which is the Vanprastha-ashrama and he became Avadhuta.

In the year 1796, Shri Satyavara Teertharu (disciple of Sri Satyasandha Teertharu) ordained him into the sanyâsa order by the name of Sri Vishnu Tirtha.

Sri Vishnu Tirtha is a Rudra Amsha. During his lifetime,  he profoundly completed the entire “Sri Nyaya Sudha Mangala” 108 times

Brindavana:
His aradhana is celebrated on Magha Bahula Trayodashi day. His Brindâvana is located at Madanur. (Madanur is in Koppal district, Karnataka. From Koppal, Madanur is six miles away – 30 minutes journey.
