Way back in 2002 , Our family with few of our friend families did a holy yatra to Moola brindavanas in Karnataka. That was not digital camera era. Loaded with film rolls(Limited in numbers) we were travelling across every corners of Karnataka region.

I remember the holiness of this place “Hosaritti” @ Ritti(Moola brindavanas of Dheerendra theertharu, Sri Susheelendra theertharu and Mrithika brindavana of our beloved Rayaru. I still remember the colorful painted walls(Not sure whether it is still colorfully painted), Varada river , The spot which was mentioned as the place where Sri Jagannatha dasaru has composed Magnum opus Harikathamruta saara, etc) .

It is also believed sri Sathya bodha theertharu(Same period)of Uttaradhi mutt  would have  regularly met Dheerendra theertharu at this place

What a holy place !!!

The village is located in the interior part of Karnataka in Haveri District on the banks of River Varada. in this place,  Sri Dheerendra Teertha & Sri Susheelendra Teertha have attained Abode of Sri Narayana, in the years 1785 & 1926 respectively. To add further vibration to this atmosphere, Sri Sujayeendra Teertharu has installed Mrittika Vrindavana of Sri Raghavendra Teertharu here.

ಧರಣೀಮಂಡಲೇ ಖ್ಯಾತಂ ಧೈರ್ಯಾದಿಗುಣಬೃಹಿಂತಮ್ |

धरणीमंडलॆ ख्य़तं धय्र्यादिगुणबृंहितम् ।
धिकॄताशॆषवादीभं धीरसिंह गुरुं भजॆ ॥

Jayaramacharyaru was the poorvashrama son of Sri Vadeendra theertharu. Sri Vadeendra thirtharu wanted to initiate sanyashaashrama to Jayaramacharyaru as he is confident he will prosper the madhwa matha and its fame. But Jayaramacharyaru was interested in propogating Philosophy through out India by travelling.

Sri Vasudhendra theertharu who was the successor of Sri Vadeendra theertharu know the aim of his guru. He wanted to give sanyasashrama to Jayaramacharyaru

But Jayaramacharyaru was not available that time around during the last moment of Sri Vasudendra theertharu

under the compelling circumstances, Sri Vasudendra theertharu had given sanyasaashrama to his poorvashrama younger brother Lakshminarayana as Sri Bhuvanendra thirtharu . However Sri Vasudendra theertharu instructed Lakshmi Narayana to study shashthras under Sri Jayaramacharyaru and to treat  him with utmost respect

During this time, Jayaramacharyaru was doing seva to Sri Vijayeendra Thirtharu at Kumbakonam. He had the urge to become sanyasi thru a dream. He took Sanyasashrama in front of the brindavana

Sri Bhuvanendra thirtharu who was looking for JAyaramacharyaru came to know that he became Dheerendra thirtharu. Sri Bhuvanendra thirtharu met Dheerendra thirtharu and studied shasthra under his holy guidance.

Sri Dheerendra theertharu did pooja of Moola raama devaru for some period of time and returned the idols to Bhuvanendra thirtharu

Sri Dheerendra thirtharu left to Ritti, On the banks of river varada and spent his time with the company of Sri Sathya bodha thirtharu, Jagannatha dasaru

His brindavana:(A miracle everyone witnessed)

HE entered ‘Brindavana’ at Hosaratti!

After a lapse of about six years, Sri Dheerendra theertha appeared in a ‘dream’ to a disciple at the Sri Mutt at Mantralaya and instructed him to immediately resurrect’ him from his Brindavana and to shift him to another spot , and thereby build a new Brindavana once again.!!

Everyone was astonished to know this strange dream. Accordingly it was decided to shift the Brindavana of Sri Dheerendra Theertha to a new place.

Huge crowds had gathered as the information about the ‘shifting’had spread every where! People were highly enthusiastic at to see/witness what would happen. This shifting of the Brindavana had never taken place before!

The ‘dismantling’ of the Brindavana began in right earnest. Every one was stunned when they saw the ‘mortal remains’ of Dhirendra Theertha which was still exactly in the same condition as it was when the first ” Brindavana ” took place. The sandal paste, Akshatha and Tulsi garland which he wore had remained as fresh as they were seven years back. It looked so fresh that his mortal remains were decorated just then. This spectacle astonished all the devotees.   ordained by the swamiji, his mortal remains were taken from the centre of the village to the banks of the river Varada and his Brindavan was installed there itself. Ever since the installation of Brindavan  here,the poojas and other rituals began taking place quite in the same manner as they are done in Mantralaya
